Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a Traveling Medicare Collections Specialist to join our team.
Job Summary:
The position is responsible for performing resolution-oriented billing and follow-up to achieve cash recovery and A/R goals of assigned Medicare hospital receivables.
The Traveling Medicare Collections Specialist temporarily relocates to one of our client hospitals throughout the USA as per our contract. Perot Systems will provide a corporate apartment, and provide transportation once a month to the Traveling Medicare Collections Specialist’s home base. Must have a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and be able to use your own vehicle when traveling to client sites. The position offers a competitive salary and benefit package, along with a generous quarterly incentive plan.
Responsibilities:
- Completes timely billing and follow-up on assigned accounts, in a compliant manner
- Identifies/recognizes and reports trends within assigned inventory
- May assist with some functions of internal reporting
- Maintains an appropriate level of productivity, as defined by project guidelines
- Reliably assists in training, when appropriate
- Keeps Project Director informed of any problems or issues
- Completes work accurately and timely with appropriate documentation
- Assists in maintaining harmony between the client staff and project team members
- May supervise others on the project sites
- Serves as a role model to the overall company image
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements: - 1+ years experience in billing and collecting acute healthcare Medicare receivables
- Working knowledge of industry-specific forms, coding and reimbursement methodologies and general medical terminology (i.e. UB-92, UB-04, HCPCS, DRGs, ICD-9, OPPS
- Understands billing requirements for some or all inpatient and outpatient services performed in a hospital setting (i.e. Outpatient Dialysis, Skilled Nursing/Sub-Acute, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Home Health, Partial Hospitalization)
- Familiarity with Florida Shared System (FSS) and/or Mutual of Omaha electronic claims systems
- Computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, and general knowledge of patient accounting/billing systems
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Exhibits a high level of professionalism and ethical behavior
- Must be willing to work a minimum of 45 hours per week Monday thru Friday, and 8 Saturday hours per month.
Minimum Educational Requirements: - High School Diploma or equivalent
- College education desirable
