Solutions Architect/DWH Designer – Atlanta

Location: Atlanta GA

Duration: 4-6 months and is renewable in 4-6 month increments based on performance and ability to meet deliverables as assigned.


NO Corp to Corp agency sub-contracting is available for H1-B visa holders, however we do accomodate and arrange for H1-B visa transfers to Mastech. Green Card processing is offered.

Solutions Architect/ DWH Designer Job Description:

Responsibilities:

Works with the users to define and document data warehouse business requirements as the foundation for database design, data extraction, analysis or cleansing

Determines, designs and documents data mapping rules for movement of data between applications or for population of new databases

Supports data selection, extraction, and cleansing for corporate applications, including data warehouse and data marts

Creates and sustains processes, tools, and on-going support structures that enable reuse and efficiency

Investigates and resolves data issues across platforms and applications, including discrepancies of definition, format and function

Creates data models, including robust data definitions, which may be entity-relationship-attribute models, star, or dimensional models

May also create data flow diagrams and process models and integrates models across functional areas and platforms

Works with DBA's to transition logical model to physical model

Creates UAT test plan

Oversees users during UAT

Develop detailed ETL specification by co-ordination with the Solutions Architects and Data Architects

Develop ETL mappings/Scripts according to the standards

Interpret the System requirements document and create Unit Test Plan and Unit test specifications

Unit testing of the ETL applications in the development environment

Documentation of Unit test results

Resolve any application related issues escalated from system testing

Resolve any application related issues escalated from User Acceptance testing


Required Skills:

The candidate needs to be a solid and seasoned IT Data Warehouse designer with deep understanding of large scale reporting, including business and technical approaches

Strong business background with exceptional communication skills

Data Warehouse design experience; the resource needs to be proficient in assessing, designing and performance tune a reporting solution in a Teradata
environment

The candidate needs to be a solid and seasoned IT business analyst with deep understanding of data warehousing from a business and technical perspective

Strong experience with SQL and BTEQ

Ability to write clear requirements and bridge the gap between IT and the business

Excellent communication and customer skills

Teradata experience, or experience working with over 1 terabyte of data (1 million records)

Strong experience with Informatica-based ETL processes
