| Responsibilities: Licensed medical personnel are needed to assess health needs of disaster clients and to assist them in obtaining necessary health equipment, supplies and/or medications. They also protect the health and safety of disaster workers. Licensed mental health professionals assist the Red Cross by providing emotional support and grief counseling to disaster clients. They also support Red Cross staff, volunteers and First Responders in dealing with the aftermath of disasters. Qualifications: Must have valid Georgia professional license as RN, LPN, EMT, PA, MD; or valid Georgia Mental Health License. Training Provided: Basic Volunteer Orientation; Introduction to Disaster Services; Specialized Red Cross Health or Mental Health procedural training. Time Commitment: Volunteer availability and time commitment is flexible.
